Snow In Midsummer

“Snow in Midsummer” is an adaptation of a 13th-century Chinese play “The Injustice Done to Dou Yi”, written by poet Guan Hanqing during the Yuan dynasty. The story revolves around a young girl, Dou Yi, who is given to a wealthy widow to marry the widow’s son. The dutiful Dou Yi cares for her mother-in-law as her own family. Tragedy ensues when Dou Yi is accused of a heinous crime and put on trial. Watch the entire play to learn of her fight for justice and her proclamation to prove her innocence.
